Sports betting in the Philippines has always had a strong community behind it. Whether you're gathered around a TV in Quezon City watching a PBA playoff game or following a UEFA Champions League match from Cebu, the passion for sport runs deep here. 987jl taps into that culture by offering a sports betting platform that feels genuinely local – all transactions in Philippine Peso, markets that prioritise the events Filipinos care about most, and a mobile experience designed for on-the-go betting.
The 987jl sports section covers both pre-match and live in-play betting across dozens of sports and hundreds of events every week. Whether you want to place a simple moneyline bet on your favourite basketball team or build a multi-leg parlay across different sports, the platform accommodates a wide range of betting styles and experience levels.
No sports betting platform serving Filipino users would be complete without deep basketball coverage, and 987jl delivers exactly that. The PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) is front and centre, with markets available for every conference game, including regular season matches, playoffs, and the PBA Finals. Whether you follow Barangay Ginebra, TNT Tropang Giga, San Miguel Beermen, or any of the other storied franchises, you will find betting markets available throughout the season.
Beyond the local game, the NBA is equally well-covered. From Opening Night through the regular season, the In-Season Tournament, the playoffs, and all the way to the NBA Finals, 987jl keeps the markets live and the odds competitive. FIBA international tournaments and collegiate leagues round out the basketball coverage, giving fans of all levels of the game a reason to engage.
Common basketball betting markets at 987jl include game winner (moneyline), point spread, total points over/under, first-quarter winner, leading scorer, and same-game parlays that combine multiple outcomes from a single match into one bet.
Football betting at 987jl spans the full international calendar. The English Premier League consistently draws the largest volume of bets from Filipino players, and the platform reflects that with comprehensive markets for every match – not just the headliner games. La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and UEFA club competitions are all covered alongside continental tournaments from AFC and FIFA's international schedule.
The Philippine national football team's fixtures and the growing local football scene are also included, giving domestic fans something to cheer for closer to home. Standard football markets include match winner, both teams to score, Asian handicap, total goals, correct score, anytime goalscorer, and first goalscorer. In-play betting lets you react to how a match is unfolding in real time, which many experienced bettors find adds a whole different layer to football betting.
The Philippines produces world-class boxers, and boxing occupies a special place in the country's sporting identity. 987jl covers major world title fights across all weight classes and sanctioning bodies, with additional focus on cards featuring Filipino fighters. Bet types for boxing include fight winner, method of victory, round betting, and total rounds over/under. Championship bouts from promotions like Top Rank, Matchroom, and PBC are regularly available in the betting schedule.
Esports betting has expanded rapidly among Filipino players, and 987jl has grown its esports coverage to match. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which has an enormous following here, is covered alongside Dota 2, CS2, Valorant, League of Legends, and other major competitive titles. Regional tournaments like the MPL Philippines and international events such as The International and major CS2 Majors all feature in the 987jl esports calendar.
Esports markets typically include match winner, map winner, first blood, total maps played, and tournament outright winner. Given the rapid pace of esports scheduling, there are almost always live markets available for bettors who prefer in-play action.
Understanding the bet types available helps you get more out of your sports betting experience. Here is a quick overview of the main market formats you will find on the 987jl platform:
| Bet Type | How It Works | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline | Pick the outright winner of a match or event. | Beginners, straightforward outcomes |
| Point Spread | Bet on a team to win by more or fewer points than the listed spread. | Basketball and American sports |
| Over/Under | Predict whether total points or goals will be above or below the set line. | Football, basketball, high-scoring sports |
| Asian Handicap | A fractional handicap eliminates draw outcomes and balances the market. | Football, experienced bettors |
| Parlay | Combine two or more selections; all must win for the bet to pay out. | Higher potential returns from smaller stakes |
| In-Play | Place bets while a match is in progress with live updated odds. | Reactive bettors, live sports watchers |
| Outright | Bet on a team or player to win a tournament or league title. | Long-term value, season-long engagement |
In-play betting is one of the most engaging features in the 987jl sports section. As a match progresses, odds shift in response to what is happening on the field or court. A basketball team goes on a run, a football match sees a red card, a boxing fight shifts momentum – these events all change the betting landscape in real time, and 987jl keeps the markets live and responsive throughout.
In-play bets are placed the same way as pre-match bets: select the market, enter your stake, confirm the wager. The key difference is that the odds you see are continuously updated, so you need to act decisively when you spot value. Live streaming integration (where available for specific events) makes it easier to follow the action and make informed in-play decisions directly through the platform.
